Pittenweem is such a lovely wee village, not far from us in the East Neuk of Fife. When we visit it's almost impossible to resist popping into Cocoa Tree Cafe for a hot chocolate. It's so cosy with rich earth toned decor, a little wood burning stove, vintage touches and of course fairy lights! As soon as you step in you're hit with the delicious chocolatey, cinnamon smells. I love the classic chocolate displays and glass tabletops which encase cuttings of articles (about chocolate) and old fashioned chocolate wrappers.
My favourite kind of day to visit here is a wintery one, where the village is quiet and we can go for a chilly walk along the harbour, then, when we've been thoroughly frozen by the Scottish weather, warm up with a hot chocolate. It's like velvet chocolate lava, and there's vegan options too! The hazelnut praline is my favourite as it reminds me of Nutella.. mmm. They do takeaway too which is great as it's so busy in the warmer months. I should also mention the non-chocolate menu which includes light meals such as sandwiches, soups and savoury crepes as well as sweet treats in the form of cakes, waffles, ice cream and more. I think it's time we planned another visit!
