Colour Co-ordinating Jewellery Group Shot
This jewellery photoshoot was very different to any I’d worked on before. Up until now, most had been a blend of macro detail with soft backgrounds - precious metals against a moody colour palette, often natural textured elements, and dressing table details.
The Brief
This time the client wanted a colour co-ordinating theme for contemporary statement jewellery. Olivia Jacq Jewellery creates ‘bold single-colour jewellery for the Distinctive Individual’. The pieces are crafted using versatile and lightweight polymer clay, focussing on shape, texture, and specific colours blends.
Jacqueline wanted the jewellery photographed on co-ordinating shades of the same hue, with some contrasting images too. These photographs were primarily for use as part of Olivia Jacq’s wholesale strategy - trade show displays and trade catalogue. They needed to be eye-catching and intriguing.

The Results
I spent some time sourcing a range of paper backdrops to suit the collection as an affordable background option, I already had some of these in the studio but wanted spares to give me the option of cutting if needed. I kept things clean and simple and chose a few simple jesmonite discs as mini plinths to add some depth.
The end results showcase the jewellery in a playful colour-block way which highlights the tactile, matte textures. By giving the pieces plenty of negative space they are given room to breathe with an editorial fashion feel which should appeal to Olivia Jacq Jewellery’s arty clients.
