A Peachy Little Brand Shoot

The Brief
Peachy Dream is a boutique home-based day spa in Aberdeen, run by Amy Murtagh - a beauty therapist with 15 years experience, including working in a 5 star hotel spa.
Amy has recently started back at work part-time after maternity leave. This brand storytelling shoot aimed to capture Amy’s luxury treatments which she wants to highlight to her client base. We would be focussing on massage and facials in particular. The aim was to make it super easy for Amy to promote these on socials, so we used the planning stage to outline specific posts she’d like images for. Our shot list included: meet the beauty therapist portraits, treatments in action, a ‘Peachy birthday post’, filler content for stories backgrounds and featured spa products.
Amy’s brand colours are earthy tones of peach, clay, sage and olive. The spa interior already reflects these, so other than a quick tidy up and hiding of cables, we added some extra greenery for texture in the background.
Shoot Day
Amy roped in a friend to model so we started with step by step imagery of the massage and facial treatments. We kept the lighting low but not as dark as a real massage, though the editing style keeps the images feeling soft and cosy. I was mostly able to step back and treat these as candid shots so that Amy could focus on her usual massage routine, just occasionally we’d repeat something or slow something down for a different angle!
After we’d finished with the model shots, I took some interiors vignettes around the spa with filler content in mind. Next, I asked Amy to handle some products, taking bits and pieces out of the cupboard, writing in her diary so we could get some detail shots of a day in the spa. We also came up with a cute alternative to cake for Peachy Dream’s birthday post image (I’m sure you’ll spot it in the gallery below!).
We then took some relaxed portraits with different areas of the spa in the background - had to use that comfy green velvet chair! Finally we headed into the garden to capture some serene Peachy Dream tea break vibes, featuring Izzy the dog and Amy’s favourite mummy mug.
The Results
Amy has a gallery of images designed to promote her luxury treatments with specific social media posts in mind. We’ve captured the relaxing atmosphere and Peachy Dream aesthetic, with photos Amy can easily caption for months of future content.
