My last shoot for Bluebelle Bombshell was back in Spring. This time, Jenna wanted some similar images but with a focus on on her cards, including Christmas designs.
I used a lot of similar props to before - a mix of vintage and natural finds which Jenna provided - but with more stationery and painting items to suit the artworks featured. I love how the images turned out as they feel fresh with the colour pop backgrounds but the styling is still very Bluebelle Bombshell. If you'd like to book a photoshoot you can do so here.

I'm a big fan of Simply Katy's work so I was delighted when she contacted me about a photoshoot for her new calendars and tea towels. Her aesthetic is so modern and chic, and her travel inspired prints feature beautiful colour palettes. For the styling I was inspired by a Parisian breakfast theme, with croissants, fresh fruit and an espresso and gold accents. I think it really works in setting the tea towels in a way that frames them as a stylish kitchen accessory. Katy asked for the calendars to be shot in a lifestyle set up, so I kept the desk scene simple with changeable props to suit the featured months. Here's what Katy said about the final images: Awh wow!!!! You have done such an amazing job 🙂 I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the shots, they really show off the products and demonstrate to the customer how they can be used!" Wild Watcher Collections is a wildlife and nature inspired outdoor lifestyle brand. For our first photoshoot, Eve sent me a range of cosy embroidered beanies, t-shirts and sweatshirts.
I wanted to create a feeling of bringing the outdoors in and when I saw this vintage ladder I thought it would work perfect as an unusual set piece. I kept the other styling quite minimal, with natural ivy and pinecones alongside some vintage props - binoculars and a British birds book. To tie it all in I kept wooden elements in all of the different images, either the ercol chair or natural wood board in the background. Eve was delighted with the final images and has booked in her 2023 shoots already! If you'd like to book a photoshoot you can do so here. Rebekka of Bek Bek Makes got in touch to book a shoot for her UV Resin Kits after being so happy with her images from earlier in the year.
This time, the brief was to create a desk scene which was bright and airy with a limited colour palette of lilacs and a hint of mint. Rebekka sent over her own lilac crate and I styled the rest with existing props. You can see a reel from behind the scenes here. The final photos capture Bek Bek Makes brand perfectly with a lovely fun and fresh vibe. If you'd like to book a photoshoot you can do so here. Last April, I was waiting on a date for major emergency* surgery so it seemed like a good time to convince David that we should buy a vintage caravan. It would be the perfect distraction, I said, and in my defence planning the project most definitely was. There did, however, turn out to be a lot more work involved than I imagined, so here we are - well over a year later - and it’s finally finished! The previous owners had started doing up our wee 1985 caravan, so we don’t have an original photo of how it would have looked, sadly. We decided we wanted to have a proper mattress for comfort and so we wouldn’t have the faff of rearranging cushions and making the bed each night. With a 4 foot mattress making up the bed/lounging area, this left just enough space for a dining section in the middle. We also decided to take out the shower as the original tray was badly damaged and there was damp in the cubicle, instead we just have a cassette toilet and little sink. We were very lucky with the kitchen; the original fridge, oven and hob all work perfectly! My Mum and Dad gave me a pair of Enamel Happy cups for my birthday before we bought the caravan, not long after that I found Lust did a retro daisy wallpaper. These were the starting point for the interior style which I planned out on Procreate. I’ve loved having an excuse to find bits and pieces to match over the last year, even sourcing mini utensils to stock the kitchen has had me in my element. I’ll pop a list of some of the items below:
I really wanted the space to feel like an escape pod where we can go to disconnect from technology and slow down. We have a cupboard stocked with games and puzzles, a little book shelf and a retro radio. I have a few things I’d like to work on next year, but for now we’re going to enjoy a few more trips away before we have to put it back into hibernation. Let me know if you have any recommendations for where we should plan a trip! *I’ve not spoken about this on here before, but it wasn’t actually an emergency in the end. They just had to treat it as an emergency to be on the safe side due to test results. Lorraine of Blushberry Botanicals decided it was time for a new look. The brand is focusing on their expanding range of natural deodorants, now offering bars as well as creams, and wanted a fresh new image style to mark this.
We decided to take the mint and blush pink from the branding and add in some other pastels to complement the colourful labels I designed a few years back. The props were kept natural and minimal for some clean styling. I thought this would be the perfect chance to try some illusion photography, with the floating lid effect for the deodorants. I also layered up some small cylinders to create plinth-like backgrounds to give the effect of the products being in the spot light. This shoot was a lot of fun - I loved playing around with the plinth scenes and "levitating" some products! We then had a mini shoot with model booked for some additional images to support the main photography - perfect for storytelling on social media or populating pages on a website. If you'd like to book a similar project, you can do so here. Jade from @twoflowersbake got in touch with a branding and photography project for the launch of her bakery business. Pink and green was a must for Jade (and what drew her to pick me for the job)
As well as logo and brand design, a notecard, business card and social media templates were required. These all feature a collection of doodles developed from the logo. They also form a repeat pattern for the notecard which is something I love to create! If you’d like to chat about a project please do get in touch or book now. When Anna from The Balance Brush got in touch about a photoshoot for her patented brush, I realised this was the perfect chance to do something a little different for me. We wanted to create 'glossy' images which could be used in adverts targeted at high end salons. The photos were to feel glamorous, with a subtle vintage luxury feel.
To achieve this I mainly used a seamless backdrop with minimal shaped props - an arch and a cylinder. I also had fun playing with balance visually, in particular with the balance illusion image, as a play on the name of the brush. We also did a few shots with pink satin for a more relaxed luxury look. These clean-look images are perfect for adding text to, whether that's on an advert or a website banner. If you'd like to book a similar project, you can do so here. This photoshoot with @capoladesigns involved lots of different little scene styling with an emphasis on light and airy natural elements with soft colour pops. The natural wooden table backdrop was used to compliment the natural wood of the products. A few of the more neutral props were used from one scene to the next to bring a feeling of continuity.
Stephanie also wanted some photos featuring the products being held to emphasize how they are ideal for gifting. If you'd like to book a photoshoot you can do so here. How dreamy are these cakes!? Two Flowers Bake is a Glasgow/Lanarkshire based bakery creating beautiful occasion cakes and bakes. This project involved a full brand design as well as photoshoot (I'll share the branding on here soon!). Jade wanted her business visuals to be all about the pink and green, that's why she picked me for the job.
I went to Jade's kitchen in Glasgow to photography these gorgeous cakes, armed with my pastel backdrops and vintage props. The final images are fun and fresh with a retro vibe. |
